Greetings Deviants

I've been trainee at Artful Ink tattoo studio in Morley Western Australia. (Perth) for the last 5 or so of months now. its unpaid work besides the cash in hand design jobs but I'm loving it.
My boss is still seeking new trainees if anyones interested. check out previous journal entry for more info.

Im currently working on another album with a local band so thats exciting, keep an eye out for some of that. I also have a lot of poster designs coming through and hopefully some photoshoots on the horizon as well as a SOLO show in the works! yeah baby! it'll be at Ruck Rover in Mt Lawley, in their Mini Art Mart

AND im looking into getting some work up at a cafe in the city.

I also finally saw the practical side for having a facebook page for my serices. in my opinion, its too easy to become a photographer these days and half these people who do it have started making a facebook page for it which seemed to me like yelling to the world that they're awesome. but, being a prvate person, i dont accept anyone on my facebook i don't know and have my security and pricy up so high on it that randoms that want me to work for them can't contact me too easily on ther. so, to promote my services in hopes of more projects without allowing strangers access to my personal facebook, i gave in. so here it is.

OH and I'm also exhibiting soon at Lick Vintage Clothing and Art Space; 25 Market St Fremantle for the 'Identity' show from November 14th to the 20th. It's part of a series of events that week! [link]

So heres an update,
I've been trainee at Artful Ink tattoo studio in Morley Western Australia. (Perth) for the last couple of months now. its unpaid work but I'm loving it.
My boss is currently looking for another new trainee but is so far having no luck finding someone up to scratch. We get a lot of old school tattoo styles applying but the shop already has a few tattooists that do old school style work. The boss is looking for someone with a more original style.
If you're a good illustrator with neat line work and shading skills and have interest in the tattooing industry you should apply!

Bout that time lads? for a lil update of things n stuff?
WELL. A friend of mine has recently finished a project you'd all be interested in as steampunk is all the rage at the moment! Check out this old school style silent movie!

I helped out a lil by doing the blueprints for the lady that you see at the start. I would have been helping with the make up too but I couldnt be there on the day. Still a fantastic final product though! Well worth checking out!

YAY! My Fellow Frog LOVER

not only drew lots of my frog stockery but bought be a new sub! how awesome are they!? Dont tell me! go to their page and tell THEM!

So in the spirit of Carriness and frogginess, here's a feature!

National Youth Self Portrait Prize 2009

A friend of mine gave me a leaflet about this and I have to share!

The National Portrait Gallery invites all young Australians between 18-25 years of age to enter the national youth self portrait prize 2009.

A selection of entries including the prize winning work will be displayed at the national portrait gallery from July 23- September 13

The $10,000 prize is generously supported by the Tallis Foundation and the Association of Australian Decorative and Fine Arts Societies.

Entries Close April 30 2009. Information and entry form available at portrait.gov.au or telephone 02 6102 7000.

The thumbs are alive!

..With the art of poetry!

It all began when I became bored of 'comment mine I'll comment yours, fave, I'll fave, watch, I'll watch'. Copying and pasting thumbs for whatever reason or promise that pops up on the forum...

Why can't we post thumbs for fun? And why are deviation titles getting just as boring and uncreative?
Well, I thought of a way to knock out both those birds with a stone called poetry, that thing nicknamed 'lit' round here that pops up on sentences on the forums like "no lit please, I have no time to read them"
Well writers, here's your chance to show off your talent, deviaters to show their creativity, not just with thumbs but with titles!
Basically, all you have to do is make a sentence, no matter how strange, out of the titles of your thumbs. Don't add words, Just paste the thumb then it's title. The more thumbs you manage to thread together like this the more strange the story your titles will tell.
Its so much fun! give it a try!

I think I'm over the poll thing. I'm just going to feature whatever whenever from now on. Its a lot less hassle. besides. not many people were voting anyway. last poll is to decide if anyone wants that system back or prefer seeing whatever I put up. She is dressed as a Pirate and yet evil she does not look.
I liked the angle and lighting in this shot more than most of the others I took that night
